Our training program

We have designed a 5-day ladder training course, allowing our participants to choose the level of involvement and the time they want to dedicate to learning about Sanitation Safety Planning. Each day there will be four sessions:

Self-study session

Short videos and easy to understand self-study training materials introduce our participants to the SSP modules. It is essential to watch/read those pre-class training materials upfront to be able to actively participate in the next session.
Duration: 30 min to 1 hour everyday

Basic level session

All participants gather in zoom, where a facilitator explain the practical application of the knowledge gained from watching and reading pre-class training material. We answer questions and organise interactive exercises.
Duration: + 1 hour every day

Practitioners session

As participants enrolled for the basic level leave the daily session, the participants registered for the practitioner’s and facilitator’s levels stay for a real “hands-on” SSP experience. Our SSP coaches will guide participants, grouped in teams, in applying knowledge to a case study. Step-by-step the teams develop a Sanitation Safety Plan.
Duration: + 1 hour every day (day 3 and day 4 will be 1.5 hours)

Facilitators session

Once the practical session is over, only participants who have registered for the facilitators’ level stay. Here we will learn about what is required to initiate and sustain a Sanitation Safety Planning Process, while each participant will prepare his/her action plan.
Duration: + 45 min every day (day 3 and day 4 will be 25 minutes)

All the times are given in Central European Time (CET), UTC +1.
For Kathmandu, count + 4:45 hours, which means that we start our online live session at 13:45.
For Addis Ababa, count + 2 hours, which means that we start our online live session at 11:00.
Lagos has CET, so we start at 9:00.
